Bunge values a workforce that reflects what our customers look like: the entire world. In order to ensure we’re living up to that ideal, we strive to adopt key performance indicators that are ambitious, and to measure them consistently.
As a global company with deep roots in the communities where we work and live, our employees represent a wide variety of skillsets and backgrounds critical to meeting the ever-changing needs of a growing world. We know we are most successful in achieving our goals when we have diversity of talent and thought, and an inclusive and equitable culture that values all voices.
We are continuously enhancing our efforts to ensure our workplace, programs and practices nurture inclusion and belonging within our organization, the industry and the communities where we live and work. But there is still much to do. This is a critical area of importance for our company, and we recognize the need for continuous improvement toward a more inclusive workforce.
While our internal diversity is top-of-mind, we also have a heightened focus on diversity in the industry. We have systems in place to track our supplier diversity and Bunge is a founding member of the Together We Grow consortium, a public-private coalition between agriculture and food companies, universities, non-profits and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to focus on addressing diversity and inclusion within the agriculture and food sectors in the United States. The coalition was launched approximately five years ago after industry leaders and consortium companies got together and recognized that while it’s important for each company to focus on these issues, it could be more impactful if we coordinated our efforts and shared best practices.
In 2021, we signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, joining a wide range of industry leaders in pledging to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace – with the goal of building inclusive workplace environments where all employees feel empowered to bring their authentic selves to work.
Through grassroots initiatives, our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) support our culture of diversity and inclusion by providing employees with opportunities to network internally, attract a diverse employee base, and to create opportunities for mentoring & career development.
