This past year was important reinforcement of the fragility and interconnectivity of our global food systems. We were reminded of the impact that conflict, drought, and trade disruptions can have on our ability to get food and food ingredients from where it is grown to where it is needed the most. Our teams — and our partners across sectors — have worked tirelessly to address the immediate food security challenges we face while continuing to invest in the long-term, sustainable solutions the world needs.
Our teams remain more committed than ever to ensuring we apply a sustainability lens to everything we do. A year ago, we announced science-based targets (SBTs) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in our operations and throughout our value chains. A year later, we’re already seeing progress toward our emissions reduction goals and continue to align our GHG reduction progress with our industry-leading commitment to eliminate deforestation in our supply chain in 2025.
As we look ahead, we are encouraged by the partnerships we have forged across sectors and the increased demands for sustainable solutions we can provide to our customers and partners. The momentum we’ve seen in this regard has been noteworthy and we believe even greater possibilities lie ahead.
