Bunge Donates $50,000 For Earthquake Relief in South America

Bunge recently has donated $50,000 to support emergency relief efforts after the earthquakes impacting Venezuela and Colombia this summer.

In Colombia, Bunge donated $25,000 to ABACO (Asociación de Bancos de Alimentos de Colombia), and, in Venezuela, Bunge contributed $25,000 to World Central Kitchen. Both donations will support meals and emergency food assistance to affected communities.

The contributions were initiated and funded by our Miami office, reflecting how We Act as One Team and We Do What's Right to support communities in times of crisis.

The earthquake caused significant damage across the western and central regions of Colombia on Aug. 10, leaving many families in need of immediate support. Through its network of food banks across the country, ABACO is helping provide food and other essentials to individuals and families impacted by the disaster, as well as coordinating relief efforts with local partners and community organizations.

In Venezuela, the June 24 earthquakes caused significant damage across parts of Venezuela, including Caracas and surrounding areas, leaving thousands of families in need of immediate support. World Central Kitchen quickly mobilized its relief teams and local partners to provide freshly prepared meals for impacted residents, first responders and recovery workers.

Bunge has a longstanding presence and strong relationships with customers throughout Colombia and Venezuela, and our contributions aim to help affected communities receive the care and resources they need.
