Innovation in Oilseed Processing

Enzymatic interesterification (“EIE”) is a process that uses enzymes to process oilseeds and make fats and oils with desired functional characteristics.

Bunge is a global leader in oilseed processing, and our new EIE technology is highly efficient. It saves energy and emissions, reduces waste and avoids trans fats.

It was recently announced that Grace, a world leader in catalysts and engineered materials, will supply Bunge with a silica specially developed and licensed for use with our EIE technology. Called Trisyl® 150IE, this custom silica extends the life of enzymes and will make Bunge’s patented process even more efficient.
